The challenge

The couple owned 50% of their home and wanted to buy the rest, ending their rent payments. Their existing lender would not lend the extra amount.

What we did

We arranged a remortgage to repay the existing loan and fund the remaining 50%. We coordinated the RICS valuation required by the housing association with the lender's valuation. We explained the legal and valuation costs involved.

The outcome

The couple staircased to 100% ownership and stopped paying rent.
