How we write and check our content

Who writes our content

Our service pages, guides, calculators and blog posts are written by the Our Mortgage Broker team in Mayfair. Each service page and guide shows who reviewed it and when it was last updated. Reviews are carried out by a CeMAP-qualified adviser; at present that is our Managing Director, Akhil Mair.

How we check it

• Approved before publishing. Our Mortgage Broker Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 944663). Everything we publish is a financial promotion, so it is approved by our Managing Director before it goes live.
• Official and named sources. We base facts and figures on primary sources such as the FCA, the Bank of England, HMRC and GOV.UK, and on named market data providers. Where we quote a rate or market average we show where it came from and the date, and it is always subject to lender criteria.
• No guarantees. We explain options and how lenders tend to assess them. We do not promise outcomes, approvals or rates, and nothing on this website is personal advice.
• Calculators are illustrations. Our calculators use simplified assumptions that we state on each one. Results are a starting point for a conversation with an adviser, not a quote or an offer.

Keeping it up to date

We review pages when the rules, tax or lender criteria they describe change, and we refresh our free guide library every year. The “Updated” date on each page shows when it was last reviewed.

Case studies and reviews

Case studies marked “illustrative” show the type of case we arrange and how we approached it; they are not specific clients, and every case is different. We do not edit, select or pay for reviews on Trustpilot or Google.
